The State of Emergency as declared by the Borough of Taylor on March 16, 2020 has been amended and modified. Public access to all Taylor Borough public buildings, parks and playgrounds will be open beginning on Monday June 29, 2020.

NOTICE

NOTICE is hereby given that the Taylor Borough Council will hold its Regular monthly meeting via teleconference on July 8 , 2020 at 7:00 P.M. to conduct general business and to vote on enacting AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING ALL PERSONS, PARTNERSHIPS, BUSINESSES, AND CORPORATIONS TO OBTAIN A PERMIT FOR ANY CONSTRUCTION OR DEVELOPMENT; PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF SUCH PERMITS; SETTING FORTH CERTAIN MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR NEW CONSTRUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT WITHIN AREAS OF THE BOROUGH OF TAYLOR WHICH ARE SUBJECT TO FLOODING; AND ESTABLISHING PENALTIES FOR ANY PERSONS WHO FAIL, OR REFUSE TO COMPLY WITH, THE REQUIREMENTS OR PROVISIONS OF THIS ORDINANCE. The Press is invited. Public comment can be made on any agenda item by submitting an e-mail to kevans@taylorborough.com or by calling the Borough Building at (570) 562-1400 x110 up to 4:30 P.M. on the scheduled meeting date. The Meeting Agenda can be viewed on-line at taylorborough.com and will be posted at the Taylor Borough Building, front door window or by requesting one be sent by email or phone call to the Borough Secretary

This is the official website of the Borough of Taylor. Taylor is a borough in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, four miles southwest of Scranton on the Lackawanna River. The history of Taylor Borough is an interesting journey. It was founded in 1790 by Cornelius Atherton. Silk manufacturing and coal mining were once practiced in the borough. It is our intention at TaylorBorough.com to provide it’s visitors with an informative recap of our community. Taylor Borough has been a unique place to live and work.
