Lackawanna Recycling Center, Inc. will no longer accept commingle material after Friday, March 27th.
Due to the current health concerns regarding Covid-19, Lackawanna Recycling Center, Inc. will no longer accept commingle material after Friday, March 27th.
The Center will continue to accept deliveries of newspaper and cardboard.
Please notify your residents in every way you deem appropriate. Social media whenever possible seems to be the fastest way to inform the public and most of you have a website and some have a Facebook Page. Perhaps you can put a flyer on the recycling bins of your residents this week.
We will notify the Times-Tribune in a few days with an article on the current condition, but it is strongly suggested that you take matters into your own hands to notify residents there will be NO commingle pickup starting Monday, March 30th.
If you receive calls from your residents asking what they are supposed to do with the commingled materials, the PA DEP has advised the following: they can store clean commingle until the health crisis subsides and services are restored, or if they choose, it can go into their trash.
Our most sincere wishes that you will stay safe and well.
