Council President Kenneth F. Mickavicz resides with his wife, Kimberly, on South Main Street, and has two daughters, Morgan and Brooke, who attend Riverside School District.  Mr. Mickavicz is currently serving his fourth-term on council on which he has served as president for ten years.  Mr. Mickavicz has been a member of the Taylor Fire and Rescue Co. for more than 25 years, where he has served as President and Fire Chief.  Mr. Mickavicz is a member of the Taylor Fireman’s Relief Association, St. George’s Social Club, The Taylor Beneficial Society and Acacia Lodge No. 579 F&AM. Mr. Mickavicz currently serves as a member on the Lackawanna County Industrial Development Authority.

While Mr.  Mickavicz has been on council, the Borough has undertaken many great projects, including building a state of the art Library, The Gateway Project and the Reclamation of the Moffat Coal Breaker and Oak Street properties. These projects have been funded mainly through local, state and federal grants.

Mr. Mickavicz is currently employed as the General Manager of North American Warhorse, Inc., Dunmore, PA.
