Councilman John J. Tigue

Councilman John J Tigue is the proud father of Justin and Meghan, who attend Riverside School District.  Mr. Tigue has been happily married to his wife Sheri for the past 20 years and resides on Barbara Lane.  Mr. Tigue is currently serving his third-term on council, on which he has served as Vice President of Council for three years. Mr. Tigue has served the community in various other organizations with in the Borough.  Mr. Tigue is an Active Firefighter for Taylor Fire Department Company Number 1, 614 Union St.    Mr. Tigue has been a Firefighter for 30 years and held many offices in the department.  Currently Mr. Tigue holds the office of Ladder Captain, Vice President of the Company, Secretary of the Relief Association and Back Hall Superintendent.  Mr. Tigue has served as Taylor Borough Fire Chief for two years (2008 and 2009).  Mr. Tigue has been with Taylor Jr. Football for 25 years, serving as President for 10 years. Mr. Tigue has coached with the  Taylor Little League, Riverside Youth Basketball League ,Taylor Community Center Girls and Boys Basketball.  Mr Tigue serves as a  member of the  R&L Civic Club, Taylor Lions Club, Viking Helping Vikings, Veterans Memorial Committee.

Mr. Tigue researched and completed an upgrade to the Borough Web Page.  The upgrade allows the borough to keep our residents better informed of day to day activities. Also, to keep residents informed, Mr Tigue created the Taylor Borough Face book Page. Many decisions and projects were completed in the borough while Mr. Tigue has been on council. Some of these great projects the borough has undertaken are the Gateway Project, Main Street Bridge, and Rails to Trails and Third Street properties. Three large storm water projects on West Taylor St, Prince Street and Pond Street Storm Water projects. Mr. Tigue has been representing Taylor Borough at the Lackawanna County Borough Association Meetings.

Mr. Tigue is currently employed at Prudential Financial, as manager of the Pricing Department.
